...and there's always eros et thanatos.
I read this morning that on 22 March 1974 Louis Kahn's funeral cortege "wended its way slowly to Montefiore Cemetery in northeast Philadelphia." Then later, via google maps, found that Montefiore Cemetery is indeed the Jewish cemetery next to Lawnview Cemetery which are close by to where I now live. Strictly speaking, Montefiore Cemetery is not within Philadelphia, rather, part of the cemetery is in Rockledge and part of it is in Cheltenham. I've been in Lawnview Cemetery hundreds of times, as that is where my family is buried and even I am to be buried, but I've never been in Montefiore Cemetery. I will, however, be visiting Montefiore Cemetery soon.
