1. Triumphal Way 1997.09.06--this series of pages combines digital captures of Diana's televised funeral with quotations from Josephus' The Jewish War. A real example of "the more things change, the more they stay the same."
2. Eros et Thanatos in Ichnographia Campi Martii--this series of pages analyzes Piranesi's delineiation of the Bustum Hadriani within the Ichnographia Campus Martius, a large plan within Piranesi's Campo Marzio that reenacts (not reconstructs) Rome of late antiquity.
3. Aldo Rossi's Modena Cemetery compared--here you will find an animated overlay of Rossi's and Piranesi's 'axis of death' plans.
From damnatio memoriae to the Cathedral of Tyre, it feels like a spotted, blurred vision becomes continually clearer. I've even found what I think will be my next late antiquity interest (once there is some Helena closure), and that is to start learning about what (really) happened when the Christian East (paradigm) shifted to Islam.
