Re: NIST WTC Collapse Report
Maybe the government should institute a color-coded alert system for high-rise buildings. Depending on the building's potential danger, a specific color would be assigned (by law) to the building's facade. That way the public would be aware of each high-rise building's risk factor, and perhaps, too, rental fees could be made concomitant with the risk. Furthermore, a single high-rise building might have more than one color assigned to it, so that some floors are colored one way and other floors another, etc. So much of the built environment is so drab anyway, so a helpful coloring of buildings would really liven things up. And not just anybody should figure what different colors should be used as designation, but rather someone that knows a lot about how many colors there are to pick from, someone like the guy behind the counter at your local paint store.
