Are diagrams in architecture bullshit and ditto for process?
"if it's not built it's not architecture" Good to know. Finally it's clear the demolished American Folk Art Museum isn't architecture anymore.

"if it's not built it's not architecture"
"...that's a plan. It's a representation of a piece of architecture."
Yet, the plan was never built, thus it cannot represent architecture.
Now I get it, less intellect is less intellect.

Designing architecture has very much evolved into almost completely image-ination. And diagramming can be an integral part of the designing architecture process.

I'd never be able to experience architecture this way in the real world. The real world's real and all, but it's certainly not the only way to experience architecture.

...can you provide examples of:
1. studying the "ideas of architecture"
2. studying architecture
3. creating "ideas of architecture"
4. creating architecture
To understand your point, I need to know what you mean by those things.

And then there's the notion that those of the exclusionary camp generally exclude those aspects of architecture that they're uncomfortable with or simply not good at.
All of the above examples (so far) are easily accommodated within the study of architecture. It's peculiar to think that any one example somehow cancels out one of the others, or, even more strange, that if you can do one then you're incapable of doing the other.
