rendered perspective, Basilica Hierusalem (c. late 326)
As a matter of fact, two columns would have been needed at each of the converging points of the arches in order to support an impost block under their springings which would have totaled about 2.42 m. (two archivolts of m. 1.16 each plus 10 cm. distance); thus six columns would be needed for each of the two series of transverse arches.

The columns of this computer model are rendered with Ionic capitals, however the actual columns at Santa Croce in Gerusalemme are topped with Composite capitals. The reason for utilizing Ionic columns in the model is purely convenience, since Ionic columns and capitals are already in Quondam's collection.
