Fundamental to the concept of seeing is its inverse or opposite, blindness. In speaking of either, we will find that, to see or to be blind, will reside in the each other's defining attributes. Those who are not totally blind will tell you they see forms and light, but both do not retain any of the detail obvious to those with unimpaired vision. What they see will retain a certain formlessness and radiates between light and dark. On the other hand those that have "perfect" sight and are conservative or classical in their vision, are often seen as shortsighted or even blind to the multiplicity of the world. To use a term from a former sight impaired co-worker; those myopic individuals were commonly referred to as "totals."
