the third author of learning from las vegas is the recently deceased steve izenour.
the thoughts about order and the strip were indeed questioning architectural order, but not of the strip, rather of its antithesis, the traditional city, and not so much outright questioning, as analysis in an attempt to expand understanding. something to the effect of "is not chaos just an order that we do not perceive? is there not an order underlying what is conventionally understood to be the "chaos" of sprawl?
