rem's style seems to be to not give clear answers. in joan ockman's excellent critique (architecture 03.02), she claims that a question from cornel west 'produced a shrug from koolhaas.' is it possible that he simply doesn't speak english very well, or prefers not to speak english? maybe it's a kind of revenge for the dutch losing their colonies ...
speaking of manhattan: has anyone seen or read the recent compilation of essays edited by michael sorkin and sharon zukin entitled "after the world trade center"?
