Krautheimer does not give much attention to the Arch of Janus except to reiterate that its difficult to verify the arch's characteristics.

Curran's 1974 photograph of the Arch of Janus overgrowing with greenery harbors Piranesian evocations. Curran's other online images from the 1980s depict the tetrapylon after it has been 'cleaned up'.
